Oh My Chef is Edita and Jan. Jan is a chef that cooks even at home, Edita a foodie with occasional tendency to graphomania. Oh My Chef is the insight to our home cooking and also our first joint project (read: if our relationship can survive this, we are pretty much safe).

Even as a kid Jan Kaplan always loitered at the stove savouring the cuisine of his mum. Yet for an unknown reason he decided to study social anthropology where he successfully completed a bachelor’s degree. Then he finally started his culinary journey and after experience in the US and London (Giraffe, The Connaught Hotel – Gordon Ramsay Holdings, Harvey Nichols 5th floor restaurant) he settled down in Brno at the legendary restaurant U Kastelána. Today he is the head chef of Pavillon restaurant in Brno. He says there is nothing he wouldn’t eat. What does he like to cook? Well you will find out reading this blog. He didn’t like tomatoes until 30 and he really enjoys telling stories about it.

Edita Zeit always showed literary ambitions, whether it was songwriting for a school band or depressive musical in high school years. After a study stay in France and a huge culinary influence of her landlady Christiane who cooked amazing dishes for her, she fell in love with gastronomy. Since then she has been closely monitoring Czech and world gastronomic scene. In addition to writing, she has her own Dinner club and takes care of translations and texts at Premium Gastro. She currently studies gastronomy and hotel management at the hotel university in Brno.
